Tom holds a B.S. in Planning from Concordia university in Montreal and a B.A. in communications from Illinois State University in Normal Illinois, he is currently pursuing a MSc in Geography at Concordia. His current area of interest is in the impact maps and mapping may have on bridging gaps between Western and Indigenous knowledge systems. In addition to his curiosity about diverse knowledge systems he is interested in identifying decolonialized content in on-line maps being produced by Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada. Originally from the Chicago area Tom has spent the last 20 years living and working in Montreal.
