A current PhD student with an academic background in geography, critical cartography, and alternative research methodologies, I have experience employing mapping as a research method and have written about counter-mapping as a tool to resist hegemonic cartographies. My current research focuses on transformative knowledge production processes as part of the ACKnowlEJ (Academic-Activist Co-Produced Knowledge for Environmental Justice) project. Previously, I have worked providing security analysis, monitoring and risk mitigation for a variety of activist organizations under surveillance and at risk of attack for their environmental and social justice activities, including organizations resisting extraction activities in their territories.
